Cat always had to share a room with her sister. In a family of six, your own space can be tough to come by. But with the family in the middle of a remodel and adding an addition, she finally found a private space of her own.
Cat shared her vision of what she wanted the space to be. The highlight was an accent wall, and it had to be Blustery Sky blue. It was clear she wanted to make a statement. She shared samples she liked and gave some of her own thoughts on the direction. With her vision as my guide, I crafted sketches blending her samples with current decor trends, before landing on a design to pitch for her approval. I have to admit, I was a little nervous, but after she looked over the renders, she fell in love with the proposal.
From there, I produced a black-and-white image that I projected on the wall to help confirm the measurements and placement. In the end, the Blustery Sky blue, along with the angular design, won her final approval.
From art direction through design and buildout, the wall became the proud centerpiece she was looking for. Thrilled with the result, she said, "I can't wait to give my friends a tour of my room!"
